Most Boyd (of London) pianos are uprights from about 1900 to 1920, with plain mahogany cases. About 70% are overdampers, 60% straightstrung. Weve tuned and repaired a great number over the years; they are mostly basic and many of those in use have loose tuning pins due to drying out from central heating. There are a few (5%?) quite good Boyd overstrung upright pianos. The baby grands are quite basic.
